Caroline had 2 staff complete courses during the year. WAY to GO!! Staffing reductions greatly reduced available time for others to explore SkillSoft. We are very happy that Jessica Nhem and Jennifer Blunt completed courses!

Their comments follow:

I found the SkillSoft training very valuable. I took the "Leadership Essentials: Building Your Influence as a Leader." I appreciated being able to set my own pace for the course and being able to save the information and come back to it to finish. The end evaluations for the courses were really used to demonstrate understanding of the materials presented. And, it reminded me that I am a horrible test taker! I think a true test of the effectiveness of trainings such as this is the retention of the information. Five months after the training I still remember key aspects of the training and apply it in my workplace everyday, including phrases like not all politics are bad politics and "compliance, but not commitment."

I did the "Leading Through Change" course. After the module, there was a one hour follow-up session with others statewide who completed the class to discuss it via Wimba. I really enjoyed the class--it taught that a leader really has to change his approach depending on personality type of their colleagues to get them on board with a project. Not everyone is expected to "buy-in," but there are ways to make the transition easier. This really opened my eyes to the fact that no only is attention to detail on the change project important, but also how you are going to present and lead people through it.

Way to go Jennifer and Jessica!!
